Project Vision: For many drivers, a car is like a second home. A living room on the street where all of life is played out on the move. For some that includes sharing multiple cars with multiple drivers. The goal of DIGIDASH is to increase the lifespan of the vehicle and keep families safe.
Constraints: DIGIDASH is an early stage startup company that is still figuring out their best business strategy. My challenge was to design an experience that would remain competitive as the company expanded.
Customer Expectations
I surveyed the target users using to identify their current needs, the apps that they are currently using, how they use it, and how they approach car maintenance.I surveyed the target users using to identify their current needs, the apps that they are currently using, how they use it, and what are their current automobile expectations.
People who had a valid driver’s license were screened out.
A competitive analysis was performed to better understand the market and where DIGIDASH stands amongst its industries. For this analysis we used thirteen mobile applications.
1. Users want to see a history of their automobile repairs.
2. Users want to easily find instructions for any a car they are driving.
3. Users want phone calls to remind them of routine maintenance.
4. Users under the of 54 currently have their smartphones connected to their automobile.
In designing the initial site map, I notice that this app was turning into a wallet app or a place holder for important car information. This is when I realized that we needed to improve the connection between car and driver which In return would extend the life of the car.
All of these elements finally come together in the final designs. You can take a look at the prototype and journey map.
